Fighting men sculpture
Reproduction of the Roman statue that can be seen in the Uffizi Museum in Florence.
This sculpture represents two human figures intent on practicing the sport of wrestling: the two bodies are entwined, and one fighter seems to have the upper hand over the other, kneeling and with his arm twisted.
The muscular structure of the two bodies is well defined and swollen due to the effort due to the type of movement, tight and excited: the modeling is compact, powerful, and the composition animated by energetic lines that converge from the outside towards the central nucleus made up of the two heads.
